Online Counseling

Thanks to our modern, tech-focused world, getting quality mental health treatment is now easier than ever. The idea of online counseling might seem intimidating at first, but once you get past the fact that there’s a screen between us, it really doesn’t feel that different than meeting in person! The quality of care you are getting from online therapy is exactly the same as meeting in my office— you are just getting it from the comfort of your own home. All of my online sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant Telehealth platform, similar to Skype or Facetime.

So what are some of the perks of online counseling?

Accessibility

Finding the right therapist for your needs can be a difficult process, especially if you are looking for someone in highly specialized area such as eating disorders or body image. Even in highly populated cities where you have access to lots of mental health professionals, eating disorder specialists can be hard to come by.

I offer online counseling to anyone throughout the state of South Carolina, so distance doesn’t have to get in the way of your ability to get the help you need. You don’t have to settle for a “good enough” therapist or someone who isn’t a great match for you just because they are nearby.

Convenience

Another great perk of online counseling is that it helps make therapy more convenient! Maybe you’ve been wanting to get into therapy for a while, but the logistics of taking off work or getting away from family responsibilities to drive to a weekly appointment never seemed realistic. Or maybe you frequently travel for work and don’t want to have to miss multiple appointments. I offer online counseling to help make access to therapy more convenient. You have the ability to meet with me from the comfort (and convenience) of your own home/dorm/hotel room/wherever!

Safety

Concerns for COVID-19 have caused many people to feel uncertain about the safety of attending in-person therapy sessions at this time— but the pandemic doesn’t have to get in the way of your access to treatment. During these stressful times, getting adequate support for your mental health has never been more important, and thanks to online counseling, it’s also never been easier.
